MANOS DOMINICANAS (DOMINICAN HANDS)
It is a craft brand of the program “Progresando en Artesanía” which was created at the initiative of the vice-presidency of the Dominican Republic in early 2004. This project serves as a training Alternative for people to expand their freedoms and improve their quality of life.
The crafts are handmade by families participating in the “Progresando con Solidaridad” (Prosoli) program. With the commercialization of their products, they are given opportunities for income generation as a strategy of integral Development.
The pieces created by the craftsmen are made with local natural waste, taking into account the availability of geographical areas, such as: coconut jicara, natural fibers (lilacs), lapidary, goldsmithing and others.
Manos Dominicanas is a social project from which two lines emerge: textile and craft.
By purchasing its pieces, it contributes to the economic development of the families participating in the “Progresando con Solidaridad” (Prosoli) program, through commercial support strategies, establishing a business model with sustainable growth and implementing effective distribution channels.
